KB Motorsports

We, at KB Motorsports, feel that our clients car investment dollar should be spent on a priority basis. This includes current vehicle condition, model longevity and any safety or dependability issues will be discussed prior to repairs.

Our continued training and latest diagnostic equipment enable us to provide a very high level of both effective and efficient vehicle repair.

KB Motorsports is built on the unique service and maintenance philosophy of its namesake and owner Kip Busse. Tailored service: priority, safety, reliability and budget.

“We at K.B.  motorsports have always had the philosophy that our customers’ car investment dollar should be spent based on a priority basis and that knowledge of current vehicle condition, longevity of model and any present safety issues are discussed with the client (prior to repair). Our continual training & latest diagnostic tools  enable us to provide a very high level of both effective and efficient maintenance and repair.”

Kip Busse

Born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. He partnered with a factory trained VW mechanic & opened Volksmotors, a small independant repair & fabrication shop dedicated to VW’s – both air & water cooled. The shop grew both in size & reputation quickly. Kip began his off-road racing experience as the driver of 1-2 1600cc off-road buggy in the  midwest at closed course events.

As builder/driver he developed his fabrication/engineering skills. His move to California was largely based on the climate & year-round racing (although he had to give up snowmobile racing). Kip went to work for a San Marcos based independent German car shop & soon decided to open KB Motorsports. Initially heavily involved in product development for Baja racing, it soon evolved to vehicle repair & maintenance, as racing was too heavily affected by the economy.  He intended to keep it small & personal.

Although personal service is still paramount, KB outgrew the industrial park facility and, after 16 years,  moved into its present day 7000sq.ft. facility. Most of the shop improvements and upgrades have been performed by Kip & his staff. His employee loyalty & integrity are reflected in both the facility & his loyal client list.  In many cases KB is maintaining vehicles from 4 generations of one family. Vehicles: 2002 BMW X5 4.4 DINAN, 2000 BMW 540i 6-speed, 1997 Chevy Silverado, 2013 BMW 1600GT,  2002 Honda RC51,2003 Suzuki V-Strom 1000, 2006 Honda CRF450X, 2000 Honda XR650, Honda EX400.
